For being seemingly so narrow in scope, the topic of technology is a broad one. Sometimes, it can be hard for people to find all the information that they need on a daily basis. This can leave many out of the loop regarding trending issues. For those who depend on this kind of news to do their jobs, a lack of information can specifically be a problem.
This is why TechFancast does what it does – bringing the hottest content on the Web to one central location. By factoring in, for example, the number of shares a post gets on social media, TechFancast aggregates only the hottest topics and happenings in the tech sphere.
Here is some of the biggest breaking tech news of the week according to the TechFancast social rank:
1) iPhone 6 update
There are few more talked-about companies than Apple. The organization has made a huge name for itself in the consumer and professional spheres alike, so it makes perfect sense that speculation surrounding the iPhone 6 would be trending especially high. According to MacRumors, the iPhone 6 will have a bevy of new features and assets, like varying screen sizes and higher resolution. The 4.7-inch version of the device is expected to be released in September.
2) Russian hackers
The largest-recorded cybersecurity breach – which involved the theft of over 1 billion user credentials from various sources – was first reported on this week. The malicious hackers behind the crime are reportedly based out of Russia, according to The New York Times. Hold Security, a cybersecurity firm based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was the first to discover the breach but has declined to reveal the names of victims and targeted websites.
3) Taylor Swift leaves insights on love via Instagram comments
Social media is one way in which almost everyone interacts with technology – and in rare instances, directly with famous people that they admire. Business Insider reported that a teenage Instagram user posted a photo of herself and wrote a blurb about her recent heartbreak, tagging Taylor Swift – of whom she is a fan – in the process. Swift saw the tag and responded, offering her own advice and words of encouragement.
"You and I both know there's got to be some greater storyline for you than 'girl gets heart broken, was sad forever,'" Swift wrote in the comments, adding that she wished her fan all the best.
